Cubic zirconia ring FAQ
Is cubic zirconia the same as zircon?
No. Cubic zirconia (CZ) is a lab-made crystal, while zircon is a natural gemstone. The rings in this collection use cubic zirconia unless the product title says otherwise.
Is cubic zirconia good for an engagement ring?
Cubic zirconia is 8 to 8.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, so it handles daily wear well, although it can show light scratches over the years. For a harder stone, see our moissanite rings.
Will an 18k gold cubic zirconia ring tarnish?
Solid 18k gold does not tarnish. Sterling silver can darken over time and polishes back with a soft jewelry cloth.
